“I had just $100 in my pocket.”

“Tomorrow Begins Today”, produced by UNRWA in 1967. Janan Harb, a 20 year old Palestinian refugee woman, caught in 88 frames of a short film as she was chased out by Israeli soldiers into Jordan. Their gun appearing in the corner of the few frames in this picture- she flees for her life. “I was part of the exodus of Palestinians… I had just $100 in my pocket” she says. From a new photographical book the Institute for Palestine Studies published ,titled “I Would Have Smiled: Photographing the Palestinian Refugee Experience” by Issam Nassar and Rasha Salti.
